President's Welcome

The year of 2010 has arrived, and Toastmasters is needed now more than ever. The ability to speak well under varied circumstances and to lead projects is critical for a person's success. Toastmasters gives our members the experience and training to achieve this success. We are not only growing our skills in these areas, with the interview workshops we host, we are helping others improve their skills as we give them a close-up look at what Toastmasters is all about. And as we participate in area and district events, we gain experiences and friends that make our lives richer.

The best thing, for me, in being a Toastmaster, and in being a Cinnamon Toastmaster, is the warmth and support we give each other. It's good to know that I can say "you know" eight times in a speech, and hear about it in such a way so that I am motivated to improve. And I know it's not a podium, but I will probably continue to call it that instead of "lectern" for a long time to come.

The awesome thing is that we support each other and help each other to do better. That's what is so fantastic about being a Cinnamon Toastmaster. If you're not one of us, come take a look and see if we fit with you. For my fellow Cinnamon members, thank you each very much for being you!
